Analysis[]
An alternative to both an Arachnet and Jellyish, Lariats are considered to be the grappling hooks of the slug world. While lacking the major versatility the other two slugs provide, a Lariat is a good slug to have around for ascending high places despite being limited to spitting slimy strings.
Wrappler and Stinklash are capable of incapacitating an enemy slinger or slug, though stronger foes such as a Rammstone can easily overpower a Lariat. The former move and Trip Trap can act as alternatives to a Polero in which they can bind and trip an opponent much like the aforementioned slug, letting the slinger save ammo on these type of tactics.
Elasticrab and Stringler are by far the most common use of the Lariat, as their sticky hides enable them to latch onto surfaces to provide a rope for their slinger to climb or use for bungee jumping should an Arachnet not be present. The latter move is more useful, as not only is it not as messy as an Arachnet's webs, but it also lets the slinger save up on climbing supplies and gold.
Overall, Lariats are capable of providing time for a slinger to make their next move by providing compensation for their lack of pure offense, either through incapacitating an opponent or helping their slinger escape.
