Flutter is a Hoverbug Slug who belongs to Trini.
Personality[]
Flutter, like Eli's Hoverbug, Bugsy shows a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and playfulness. The glint in his eye especially shows it, but Flutter also shares a very strong bond with Trini. She's always reluctant to leave her and must think about her a lot, since that must have been why she was awake when the monster came. Though she seems to have never been slung in his whole life, she would be very happy to discover what it's like, and if she and Trini ever make a reappearance in the series, they'll probably have become elite slingers.
Biography[]
In the episode It Comes by Night, Flutter first appears playing with Trini, while other villagers close and lock their doors and windows. Trini's mother calls her and Trini regretfully puts him into the slug pen, where the other slugs are with little houses and dens. She puts on the electric fences protecting them, then goes inside after having said her goodnights to Flutter.
A little later, the Eel comes to suck the energy out of the slugs, though Flutter is the only one awake. He "screams" in horror when he sees the monster, before having his energy drained. When everyone wakes up, they're horrified to see the motionless Slugs, especially Trini about Flutter. She only reappears at the end of the episode, where, the monster has been beaten, he wakes up on Trini's lap, who's trying to feed him Slug Food on a spoon. She rejoices about this and hugs her. She then stays fluttering near her for the rest of the episode.
